Quality Control of Deliverables
Review
compiled planimetric and topographic data for completeness and accuracy.
As each stereo model is collected, a final TIN will be run at the stereo
plotter. This insures that a sufficient number and proper location of
breaklines and spot elevations have been collected. Once the data is received
at the edit stations, a TIN will be run and inspected. When it passes
control checks a contour will be generated from the original elevated
data. A smoothing algorithm is used to generate aesthetically pleasing
contours. One advantage of ATLAS/DTM is the ability to view both smoothed
and raw contours simultaneously. Obviously, this quality control check
is essential in producing pleasing yet accurate contours. The final DEM
file is used to generate the ortho corrected image. Very few errors should
exist in the data at this time because of the inherent checks in the data
capture process and the quality control procedures already performed.
